As part of the “Geospatial Assessment of Women Employment and Business Opportunities in the Energy Sector” project, open-source Gender-related spatial data was collected for 31 Small Island Developing States (SIDS) across the globe, resulting in curated and thoroughly documented geodatabases (GDBs) that are now ready to be explored! 
Fifty-nine spatial layers were identified and then researched for each country, covering the following categories: Demographics and Population | Renewable Energy | Energy Access | Education | Jobs and Finance | Digital Inclusion | Transportation | Safety | Amenities | Climate/Earth | Law/Policy/Government. 


However, not every country GDB contains all 59 data layers, as this was dependent on the availability of open-source data in each SIDS. Users are encouraged to check the accompanying metadata excel file for more information on the datasets in each GDB, the vintage, and the

Comprehensive high-resolution (1m) probabilistic flood hazard maps for Freetown, Sierra Leone, covering both river (fluvial) and surface water (pluvial) flooding across six return periods (20, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1,500 years). These undefended maps show flood depth and extent from riverine overflow and rainfall-driven surface water accumulation using JBA's hydraulic modeling software (JFlow 2D and RFlow 1D for river flooding; JFlow 2D for surface water flooding). The maps have been enhanced from 30m to 1m resolution using advanced water filling algorithms applied to high-resolution Digital Elevation Models. This dataset provides a complete picture of flood risk in Freetown from multiple sources, essential for comprehensive disaster risk management, urban planning, and climate adaptation strategies.

This comprehensive flood risk assessment combines: (1) JBA's high-resolution (1m) probabilistic flood hazard maps for both river and surface water flooding across 6 return periods (RP20-RP1500); (2) GEM Foundation's building exposure database (GED4ALL taxonomy) with 153,436 georeferenced buildings valued at USD $8.08 billion; and (3) complete catastrophe modeling loss outputs including Average Annual Loss, loss exceedance curves (OEP/AEP), event loss tables (1,943 stochastic events), and spatial loss aggregations. Dataset represents industry-standard probabilistic flood risk assessment comparable to commercial catastrophe models.
