Gridded Global Agro-ecological Zones at uniform grid resolution of 0.05° by 0.05° used in Gascoigne et al. (2024). Available for most African countries.
GAEZ generates large databases of (i) natural resource endowments relevant for agricultural uses; (ii) spatially detailed results of individual land utilization type assessments in terms of suitability and attainable yields; (iii) spatially detailed results of estimate/actual yields of main food and fiber commodities for all rain‐fed and irrigated cultivated areas; and (iv) spatially detailed yield and production gaps, also for main food and fiber commodities.
The underlying data come from Fischer, G., F. O. Nachtergaele, S Prieler, E. Teixeira, G. Toth, H. van Velthuizen, L. Verelst, and D. Wiberg. 2012.
