The FAO has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). This fourth-round survey reached 1 988 households. Eight out of the ten provinces in Zimbabwe were surveyed: Manicaland, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland West, Masvingo, Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South and Midlands. The survey was representative at the Admin 1 level and targeted 180 agricultural households per province and 295 non-agricultural households per province. The survey was conducted from 29 March 2022 to 11 May 2022 through computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI).
