As part of the “Geospatial Assessment of Women Employment and Business Opportunities in the Energy Sector” project, open-source Gender-related spatial data was collected for 31 Small Island Developing States (SIDS) across the globe, resulting in curated and thoroughly documented geodatabases (GDBs) that are now ready to be explored! 
Fifty-nine spatial layers were identified and then researched for each country, covering the following categories: Demographics and Population | Renewable Energy | Energy Access | Education | Jobs and Finance | Digital Inclusion | Transportation | Safety | Amenities | Climate/Earth | Law/Policy/Government. 


However, not every country GDB contains all 59 data layers, as this was dependent on the availability of open-source data in each SIDS. Users are encouraged to check the accompanying metadata excel file for more information on the datasets in each GDB, the vintage, and the

Ecuador

The World Bank conducted Phase 2 of the High-Frequency Phone Survey (HFPS) project in 2021 to continue to assess the socio-economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Latin America and The Caribbean households. Phase 2 was conducted in partnership with the UNDP LAC Chief Economist office and included two waves. Ecuador has been part of all waves of data collection as part of the Regional effort. In 2022, in partnership with the Joint Data Center on Forced Displacement, two additional waves of data were collected in February and June. This study presents these last waves of data (Wave 3 and Wave 4).

Ecuador - COVID-19 High Frequency Phone Surveys 2022

Series Name: Socio-Economic/Monitoring Survey [hh/sems] Series Info: These surveys are the final delivery of the series of LAC: COVID-19 High Frequency Monitoring Project (Phase1 - P173987) and (Phase 2- P175839) that for Ecuador extended into 2022 with two additional waves. Ecuador's data collection was financed by JDC (P175780). Data Processing Notes: The 2021-2022 HFPS collects information on changes in employment and income, prevalence of food insecurity, access to health, education, and financing services. This allows users to compare certain indicators of living conditions of households and individuals with the 2020 HFPS. Additionally, this phase gathered information on access and use of internet and digital banking services, gender issues, mental health, coping mechanisms and childcare. For Ecuador, two additional waves were conducted, in February and June 2022. As in the first phase, the surveys are representative of individuals of 18 years of age or above who have an active cellphone number or a landline at home. An improvement in the sampling methodology also allows for the data of Phase 2 Waves 2, 3 and 4 to be representative of school-age children and adolescents for the education module, and childcare for children up to 5 years old. Eligible respondents for the HFPS were adults 18 years old and above. Only one respondent per household was interviewed, and he/she answered individual, child and household-level questions.
