As part of the “Geospatial Assessment of Women Employment and Business Opportunities in the Energy Sector” project, open-source Gender-related spatial data was collected for 31 Small Island Developing States (SIDS) across the globe, resulting in curated and thoroughly documented geodatabases (GDBs) that are now ready to be explored! 
Fifty-nine spatial layers were identified and then researched for each country, covering the following categories: Demographics and Population | Renewable Energy | Energy Access | Education | Jobs and Finance | Digital Inclusion | Transportation | Safety | Amenities | Climate/Earth | Law/Policy/Government. 


However, not every country GDB contains all 59 data layers, as this was dependent on the availability of open-source data in each SIDS. Users are encouraged to check the accompanying metadata excel file for more information on the datasets in each GDB, the vintage, and the

Tanzania

Tanzania Enterprise Skills Survey was conducted between April and August 2015 by the Enterprise Analysis Unit (DECEA) and the Education Global Practice (GEDDR) of the World Bank Group. The objective of the survey is to develop and test a methodological approach for a diagnostic of the composition and demand for skills and the relationship between skills (and/or skills constraints) and firm performance of selected economic sectors in Tanzania. A detailed skills module was developed as part of a larger firm-level Enterprise Survey, collecting information, among others, on the characteristics of firms and their owners, innovation and export activities, and firm performance. The sample for the survey was selected using stratified random sampling, following a broadly similar methodology used in the World Bank's Enterprise Surveys.

Series Name: Enterprise Survey [en/oth] Series Info: As part of its strategic goal of building a climate for investment, job creation, and sustainable growth, the World Bank has promoted improving business environments as a key strategy for development, which has led to a systematic effort in collecting enterprise data across countries. The Enterprise Surveys are an ongoing World Bank project in collecting both objective data based on firms' experiences and enterprises' perception of the environment in which they operate. The Enterprise Survey is a firm-level survey of a representative sample of an economy's private sector. Firm-level surveys have been conducted since 1998 by different units within the World Bank. Since 2005-2006, most data collection efforts have been centralized within the Enterprise Analysis Unit. The Enterprise Surveys are conducted across all geographic regions and cover small, medium, and large companies. The surveys are administered to a representative sample of firms in the non-agricultural formal private economy. Data are used to create indicators that benchmark the quality of the business and investment climate across countries.
