As part of the “Geospatial Assessment of Women Employment and Business Opportunities in the Energy Sector” project, open-source Gender-related spatial data was collected for 31 Small Island Developing States (SIDS) across the globe, resulting in curated and thoroughly documented geodatabases (GDBs) that are now ready to be explored! 
Fifty-nine spatial layers were identified and then researched for each country, covering the following categories: Demographics and Population | Renewable Energy | Energy Access | Education | Jobs and Finance | Digital Inclusion | Transportation | Safety | Amenities | Climate/Earth | Law/Policy/Government. 


However, not every country GDB contains all 59 data layers, as this was dependent on the availability of open-source data in each SIDS. Users are encouraged to check the accompanying metadata excel file for more information on the datasets in each GDB, the vintage, and the

Georgia

Having reliable, timely data on poverty and inequality is critical to assess the distributional impact of and recovery from COVID-19 and high inflation on households and to make near-real time evidence-based strategic decisions. Partnering with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and Caucasus Research Resource Centers (CRRC), the South Caucasus team in the Poverty and Equity Global Practice at the World Bank conducted a series of Georgia High Frequency Survey to monitor the impact of these events on households in Georgia. This eighth round of the survey is augmented by including questions on the impact of high inflation, disruption in employment and schooling, concerns over environmental risks, and access to health services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Impacts of COVID-19 and Recovery in Georgia

Georgia - COVID-19 High Frequency Survey 2020-2022

Series Name: Socio-Economic/Monitoring Survey [hh/sems] Series Info: Georgia is emerging from the COVID-19 crisis, but the pace of recovery may be different across space and sociodemographic groups. In addition, the war against Ukraine and sanctions on Russia is expected to hit economies around the globe, including Georgia. These profound impacts of the crises underscore the urgency of timely data and real-time analyses for countries to quickly and effectively mitigate the effects of the shock and lay the groundwork for future resilience. To support the Government emerge resiliently from these crises, the South Caucasus Poverty and Equity team at the World Bank has collaborated with various partners to collect series of high-frequency phone surveys (HFPSs) that can be used widely to monitor the evolution of the crises and its impacts on households and firms. These data and related materials are publicly available. Partnering with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and Caucasus Research Resource Centers (CRRC), the South Caucasus team in the Poverty and Equity Global Practice at the World Bank conducted a series of COVID-19 Georgia High Frequency Survey to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on households in Georgia. The fifth round was collected in March 2022, the sixth round in May 2022, the seventh round in September 2022, and the eighth round in December 2022.
