Urban Green Areas information product contains spatial explicit information on green areas located within the Urban Extent (derived from LULC product) of the city. Green areas include linear green features such as river alignments, hedges and trees, as well as public parks, private gardens, forested areas, etc. Urban Green Areas dataset are based on Very High Resolution (VHR) satellite imagery (Quickbird-2 (2005)) / (Pleiades (2016)) by means of automated classification processing techniques

Data Notes:
The Urban Green Areas 2005 map of Kigoma was produced using Very High Resolution satellite imagery (2005: Quickbird-2) for mapping the Core-Urban area as input data. All steps for production of the dataset had a related Quality Control measure which is documented in the Annexes of the “EO4SD-Urban Kigoma City Report, 2018". The final thematic accuracy for the historic product (2005) is 89.8%
The Urban Green Areas 2016 map of Kigoma was produced using Very High Resolution satellite imagery (2016: Pleiades) for mapping the Core-Urban area as input data. All steps for production of the dataset had a related Quality Control measure which is documented in the Annexes of the “EO4SD-Urban Kigoma City Report, 2018.” The final thematic accuracy for the actual product (2016) is 90.7%
